EXPEDITION
CHARTER.
Clear operating protocols governing high-altitude safety, LA-02 commercial regulations, micro-batch seat allocations, and rider responsibilities.
Effective Season: June 01, 2026 – September 30, 2026 · Leh Basecamp
1. The Micro-Batch Agreement
Ride & Fire operates strictly in micro-batches of 6 to 8 riders maximum per departure. This ensures a 1:4 staff-to-rider ratio, eliminates dangerous trail dust storms, and guarantees dedicated 4x4 shadow support within 200 meters. By reserving a slot, you agree to ride in tactical convoy formation under the direct commands of the Lead Road Captain.
2. High Altitude Acclimatization & AMS Protocol
Our routes cross colossal passes exceeding 17,500 feet (such as Khardung La at 17,582 ft and Chang La at 17,586 ft). You agree to adhere strictly to the following medical rules:
- Mandatory 24–48 Hour Rest: Upon arrival in Leh (11,560 ft), you must rest for the first 24 to 48 hours. No strenuous riding is permitted until baseline blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) is logged.
- SpO₂ Monitoring: The Road Captain performs twice-daily pulse-oximeter screenings. Any rider registering SpO₂ under 70% accompanied by symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) will be placed on supplemental oxygen from our 24L convoy cylinders and evacuated to lower elevation if required.
- Summit Dwell Limit: High-pass summit stops are strictly capped at 15–20 minutes to prevent high-altitude cerebral or pulmonary edema.
3. 100% LA-02 Yellow Plate Union Mandate
Under the Leh Motor Bike Rental Association (LMBRA) and LAHDC District Magistrate regulations, outside commercial motorcycles (DL, HR, HP, PB plates) are strictly barred from internal tourist routes in Ladakh. Every Ride & Fire machine is 100% compliant with authentic LA-02 commercial yellow plates, guaranteeing unhindered passage at South Pullu, North Pullu, Upshi, and Hunder checkpoints.
4. All-Inclusive Package Scope
Every Ride & Fire expedition package includes:
- Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 (liquid-cooled 40 HP Sherpa engine) with crash guards and bash plates.
- 100% route fuel and mechanical fluids throughout the circuit.
- All LAHDCL Inner Line Permits, Wildlife fees, and Red Cross levies.
- Modified American Plan (MAP: breakfast and dinner) at curated boutique hotels and luxury glamping.
- Dedicated 4x4 shadow convoy carrying rider luggage, spare engine assemblies, and 24L medical oxygen.
- Certified Master Mechanic and Wilderness First Responder escort.
5. Direct Dispatch & Confirmations
Ride & Fire does not outsource bookings to third-party call centers or aggregators. All reservations are coordinated directly with Kunga (Owner & Operations Lead) in Leh. Once you have consulted directly with Kunga and your slot is logged in the hangar ledger, your vehicle allocation and departure date are 100% confirmed.
